Why We DO What We DO
We brew craft beer with a Texas spirit. TUPPS is inspired by the rich history, vibrant culture, and adventurous spirit of the Lone Star State. We pride ourselves on being fun, approachable and creative, but quality always comes first. We’re Traditionally Un-traditional. We embrace tradition but break the rules from time to time in order to create exciting new brews.
There’s nothing like a good old fashion kick back with the ones you love. We strongly believe that beer is greatly enhanced when consumed in the company of close friends or random people who will soon be good friends. This can be accomplished in the bars and pubs where you will find TUPPS beer, but you can also have this experience visiting our brewery. At the brewery, we have created an environment that embraces the feel and the era of the historic Mill District. When you visit the brewery, you will be immersed in the old Texas feel of Downtown McKinney and experience the past when things were slow, and life was not as complicated.
There’s never a wrong time to tip back a TUPPS.
Our Story
TUPPS brewery began in 2009 when Keith Lewis and former partner, Tupper Patnode, brewed their first batch of beer, with a home brew Christmas gift from Keith’s wife, Pam. They enjoyed the process and creativity, so they began brewing every weekend with Keith’s son, Chris, now the Head Brewer. Eventually, they realized they could turn this hobby into a business. Fast forward to 2015…. they found a great location, built the brewery with their bare hands, and opened! Along the way, Keith’s oldest son, Chase, and daughter, Katie, joined the expanding business.
In early 2024, TUPPS Brewery moved down the road to a 4-acre property which features a restored 120-year-old grain mill taproom, restaurant, state of the art brewery, a children’s area, stage and plenty of green space. The family business grew organically because of a love of beer, people, and fun!
